Why is Ozone Therapy Used for Small Animals and Pets?

Ozone therapy is used in a wide variety of applications in pets and is beneficial in any situation involving infection, inflammation, tissue damage, cancer, etc. It is particularly useful for pets who are not responding well to medication, as this oxygen-rich treatment helps boost all conventional and alternative therapies to achieve maximum efficacy. A few examples of conditions that can benefit from ozone therapy include:

  • Skin issues — Ozone therapy is useful for hot spots, pyodermas, allergic dermatitis, abscesses, and wounds (especially deep abrasions and degloving injuries.)

  • Pain relief — Ozone is ideal for decreasing inflammation and pain and can be used for orthopedic, soft tissue, and post-operative pain, as well as for acute and chronic issues.

  • Neurological issues — Head trauma and spinal cord inflammation are two conditions commonly treated with ozone therapy.

  • Chronic or acute Lyme disease — Ozone therapy provides pain relief and attacks the disease-causing pathogen in Lyme disease.

  • Oral conditions — Stomatitis, gingivitis, and abscesses can be tricky to manage, but ozone therapy is an excellent treatment modality for these challenging dental issues. Ozone therapy is ADA approved for dental abscesses.

  • Cancer and autoimmune problems — Ozone therapy attacks and destroys abnormal cells while boosting the healing powers of healthy cells.

  • Ear problems — Ozone therapy helps manage acute or chronic otitis from yeast or bacterial infections and helps heal aural hematomas.

  • Eye issues — Useful for eye infections and allergic reactions, ozone therapy can help treat challenging ocular infections.

  • Upper respiratory conditions — Upper respiratory conditions can be caused by a number of pathogens that lead to infection and an inflamed airway, both of which can be alleviated through ozone therapy.

  • Gastrointestinal problems — Constipation, diarrhea, and irritable bowel syndrome are common disorders treated with ozone therapy.

  • Adjunctive treatment — Ozone therapy potentiates acupuncture, homeopathy, and chiropractic treatments because it brings more needed oxygen to the body.

The High Efficiency Ozone Pet Shower is a popular ozone therapy treatment for a full body wash. It is natural and has the super powerful anti-bacterial effects of ozone. It removes odors, fights fleas, and treats all types of skin diseases. Ozone can treat infections, itching, allergies, dermatitis, surgical shavings, and alopecia. The Ozone Pet Shower is great for elderly pets and heavy seasonal shedding. Groomers can use it as an additional gentle, sanitizing bath for all types of skin.

Since ozone is a strong oxidant that acts as a natural sanitizer, ozone water does not leave behind any residue like common cleaners such as chemical shower gels and those used for skunk odors. Any residual ozone will be converted back to oxygen within a short time, which benefits the skin overall.

Ozone brings more oxygen to blood and encourages the movement of red and white blood cells, which boosts your pet’s immune system.

Uses:

  • Eliminates bacteria on the skin

  • Removes skunk and other odors

  • Leaves fur radiant, soft, and free of residuals

  • Increases oxygen to subcutaneous tissues and blood

  • Cleans skin surfaces

  • Treats hair follicle disease

  • Boosts the immune system
