  • Topical Use Instructions

    Ozonated Insect Shield is typically used as a topical natural insect repellent spray for dogs and horses to discourage mosquitoes, flies, fleas, and other biting insects. It contains ozonated olive oil, witch hazel, and essential oils such as rosemary, peppermint, and cedar designed to naturally repel pests.  

    Below is the standard way to use it safely on pets.

    How to Apply on Dogs or Horses
        1.    Shake the bottle well before use (natural oils may separate).
        2.    Spray lightly onto the coat from about 6–12 inches away.
        3.    Focus on exposed areas where insects bite most:
        •    Legs
        •    Belly
        •    Flanks
        •    Tail base
        •    Around the neck and chest
        4.    Rub gently into the fur so it lightly coats the hair and skin.
        5.    Avoid spraying directly into the face avoid eyes and mucus membranes.
        •    To avoid sensitive areas spray a small amount on a cloth and wipe around the ears and head.

    Frequency of Use
        •    Before outdoor activity (walks, hiking, barn time).
        •    Reapply every 3–6 hours depending on insect pressure.
        •    Reapply after swimming or heavy rain.

    Areas to Avoid

    Do not spray directly into:
        •    Eyes
        •    Nose
        •    Mouth
        •    Open wounds or hot spots 

    Additional Tips
        •    Patch-test a small area first for sensitive skin.
        •    Best used preventively before insects begin biting.
        •    Store in a cool place or refrigerator if used occasionally to maintain stability.  

    💡 Veterinary tip 
    Because the base contains ozonated olive oil, it can also mildly support skin barrier health and microbial balance, which is helpful for pets prone to insect-bite dermatitis or hot spots.
